We are on the ground working in Sierra Leone, Africa

A devastating effect of poverty is that many children are separated from their parents to survive in the streets or in orphanages. Keeping more families together is one reason why we work with communities vulnerable to poverty-inflicted family separation.

We help create jobs to support families so they have the means to provide enough to stay together.

“I have found that there are three stages in every work of God; first it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is done.“

Gabriel and Deborah in the early days before their engagement, Sierra Leone 2009

They moved to the USA as a newly engaged couple and have continued to support Sierra Leone community development projects from a distance and through short term trips for the past 8 years- but their dream is to move back, now as a family of five, to serve full time.

For Gabriel, Sierra Leone is more than just his birthplace; it's where his personal journey of resilience and transformation began.

Growing up amidst the tragedies of a war-torn country he endured profound loss and witnessed the unthinkable. Forced separation from his remaining family due to poverty only deepened his struggle. After coming to America he discovered the liberating power of employment - his first job highlighted a path to freedom found in the ability for personal financial growth and the opportunity to provide for others.

Get to know the Contehs

Meet the family we are sending to work on the ground full-time in Sierra Leone

Gabriel and Deborah Conteh have been involved in Sierra Leone ministries for more than a decade.

Deborah first felt called to missions as a young child. She spent several years living in Sierra Leone investing in ministry to orphans and women specifically through academic tutoring, mentoring, and starting a trade school. She considers being embraced by the Sierra Leonean community a privilege and has worked hard to learn the local languages and culture.

Gabriel was born in Sierra Leone and met Deborah when she served as a regional missionary in 2009.

This transformative experience ignited a passionate desire within him: to offer the same chance at self-development, reward for hard work, and ability to care for others to those suffering in Sierra Leone; hoping to spare them from the heart-wrenching pain of family separation or dependence on outside aid.

The Contehs are embarking on a life-altering journey by moving back to Sierra Leone, driven by a desire to witness the people of Sierra Leone flourish spiritually, financially, and relationally.

The Conteh family still needs additional support partners to launch full time ministry living in Sierra Leone. Any donation amount helps!  Please consider joining as a monthly partner as they transform communities in Sierra Leone.

If you'd like to help send the Conteh to Sierra Leone, please consider a monthly partnership, or a one-time gift.
